Walt's web page(Updated 11/19/2006, 9:00am) |
|
| Friday, 11/18/06 | Vickie says that Walt's new address is 9355 SE 182nd, Gresham, but online maps show that as an invalid address. (I probably wrote it down wrong.) I'm guessing that the address is actually 3955 SE 182nd, Gresham. At that address is Village Convalescent Center. Driving directions and map. It looks like it's also called Village Health Care (503) 665-0183. |
| Wednesday, 11/08/06 | Walt is out of the hospital in an "assisted care" facility, but nobody seems to know where. |
| Sunday, 10/29/2006 | Walt is being moved from ICU to a private room. |
| 10/??/2006 | Walt has been in and out of ICU. He had a blood clot and pneumonia. |
| Tuesday?, 10/24?/2006 | Walt went into surgery for his hip. |
| 10/??/2006 | Walt broke his hip. He kicked a rock from the walkway in front of his house while getting the newspaper, and tripped. John heard him yelling, and got an ambulance to the house. Walt requested a different hospital - I don't know which yet. |
| Tuesday, 10/19/2004 | Walt came home today. They "removed" 1.5 liters of fluid, and now he weighs 137. His clothes are too big now! |
| Saturday, 10/16/2004 | Walt went in to the hospital last night because he has fluid on his lung(s). He'll be having an hour long procedure done tomorrow to remove the fluid. It wasn't clear to Vickie whether it was going to be a procedure done in the room, or an actual surgery. He might be able to check out tomorrow. He's in room 609 today. |
| Wednesday, 10/13/2004 | Walt is home!!!!! |
| Thursday, 10/07/2004 | Visits by Virge and Vickie. It sounds like Walt is going be in the hospital for a bit longer. Ron said it was because of his weight gain and/or water retention (I can't remember which, but I think they're related). Virge thought it would be "days" and also talked about the water retention and weight gain. |
| Wednesday, 10/06/2004 | Visit by Dave and Stacie. Walt says he believes he will be checking out tomorrow (Thursday). He is on oxygen, and said he might have to have it at home. The view from his room is better than last time, although some of what he gets to watch is hospital construction. He doesn't sound too fond of the "vampire" that comes in at 3am every morning to take blood, but does seem to like the food. He says that he's retaining water, and has gained some weight. He gets a daily Oregonian, but isn't happy with the choice of TV channels. |
| Saturday, 10/02/2004 | Visit by Virge. Virge says the difibrulator (sp?) was moved down lower (near his stomach?) during the surgery. (Too much going on during the conversation with Virge - now I can't remember what all he said...) |
| Friday, 10/01/2004 | Walt has moved to room 602, with a better view than the last time he had to spend a few days in the hospital. He went on a brisk walk with his walker and Vickie. He went for 48 hours without any pain medication, but is back on it now. (He wasn't supposed to be off of the medication, but it sounds like there was a miscommunication the the nurse(s).) |
| Wednesday, 09/29/2004 | Visits by Vickie, Virge and Ruth, and Dave and Stacie. He looks and sounds great, although is in some pain. He says he's moving upstairs tomorrow. |
| Tuesday, 09/28/2004 | Walt's surgery goes well. No complications. Nothing unexpected. |
